The City Farm Café is a beautiful space set on the edge of Windmill Hill City Farm. It was reopened after a major expansion and refurbishment in May 2017. 36 guests can be comfortably seated or the space can hold 60 standing.
In the lighter summer evenings, it’s a bright, welcoming space and the doors can be left open to let the outside in. On darker nights we decorate it with twinkly lights and candles for a cosy glow. We’ve hosted birthday parties, theatrical performances, fundraisers, and even a wedding, complete with Ceilidh.
The space is also available for pop-ups and supper clubs, with use of our modern kitchen if required – get in touch to discuss your plans and we can work with you to come up with a suitable package. For party hire, there are various options, depending on your requirements.
The space is available to hire in the evenings only, from 6.00pm until 10.00pm. Earlier arrival times may be possible by prior arrangement (see FAQs below).

£60 per hour
The café is available to book every evening from 18:00 until 22:00.
Yes, we can begin your booking before 18:00, but we will need to add a surcharge to cover lost earnings and overtime for our cleaners.
The surcharge structure is as follows:
- Access from 6pm – normal rates
- Access from 17:30-18:00 – normal rates plus £30 surcharge
- Access from 17:00-18:00 – normal rates plus £60 surcharge
- Access from 16:00-18:00 – normal rates plus £220 surcharge
You can – we have hosted everything from supper clubs to fundraising charity dinners – just get in touch to discuss your plans and we can work with you to come up with a suitable package.
Once your booking of the café is made, you will be put in touch with our Café Manager, who will be able to talk you through your options.
Yes, we do charge for corkage at £1.50/head. Glass hire is £1/head, and crockery & cutlery hire is £2/place setting.
Certainly – we hire out a speaker system for £50 that can connect to anything with a headphone socket, and even has microphones for karaoke! You are also free to bring your own speakers if you wish.
