Our History

Performance art in the 1980sCreated in the 1970s thanks to the efforts of volunteers, Windmill Hill City Farm has been a vital hub for the south Bristol community ever since.

The history of the city farm, in words and photos, is available to the public through history boards in the visitor centre and online at our farm history site. These were created as part of the Farm Tales and Windmills of Time projects; both projects were supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
