Award-winning writer/director Rachel Tillotson is holding a film workshop here at the farm. The workshop combines two main ideas: storytelling for the screen (short format) and working with guest actors.
We’ll look at what goes into a short screenplay, discussing the basics of what works and look at an award-winning short script together focusing on character. Later in the day, actors will discuss these characters.
This is a very versatile workshop, adjusting to suit the desires and needs of those who attend. Participants are encouraged to discuss a short story concept of their own but this isn’t essential. We encourage beginners in film as well as the more experienced. It is a collaborative, social environment. We will debate what commissioners might like and what stories might have audience appeal. Writing exercises are optional and group discussions are offered.
Suitable for: anyone who wants to get their creative juices flowing and experience the excitement that brings: students on drama, creative writing or media production courses and anyone who wants to develop skills that bring benefits to the personal and work areas of their life.
Cost: £55 (plus booking fee)
