The first in a series of “Community Conversations” hosted by Action Greater Bedminster and Windmill Hill City Farm Café.
Air quality in Bristol, particularly in BS3, is currently breaching long-term standards and regularly breaks legal standards for Nitrogen Dioxide.
Bad air quality affects the most vulnerable – children, older people and people with heart and lung conditions. Look at http://www.claircity.eu/bristol/city-shockers/air-pollution-map-of-bristol/
Come along and find out more about this local issue at an informal evening in the farm café. There will be a bar and snacks.
Corra Boushel of the University of the West of England and claircity.eu will be leading us through some interactive group chats with surprising information and statistics about the effects of bad air quality.
We’ll look at national and local policies, and hopefully come away with a clearer idea of what can be done here and now to both protect us and to encourage change. These agreed actions will feed into the Action Greater Bedminster Community Plan due to be published in early 2019. We’ll learn about what the City Council is doing, and the activities of other groups in Bristol such as St George Breathing Better and Clean Air Bishopston.
