Hand-made silver earringsIf you enjoy wearing or giving jewellery that is a little different from everyone else’s and you’d like to learn some new skills, then a jewellery making course could be just what you’re looking for.

Silver and copper jewellery making courses for both beginners and those with some experience are run here at the City Farm.


Silver & Copper Jewellery Making for Beginners

Learn how to make your own silver and copper jewellery from metal sheet and wire using traditional jewellery making skills, including piercing out, shaping, texturing, soldering and finishing.

Start date: Thursday 17th January 2019
End date: Thursday 28th March 2019
Time: 10am to 12.30pm
Sessions: 10 
Cost: £91.50 (may be reduced for those on a means tested benefit – see this page) plus £10 towards materials
For: Suitable for beginners, no previous experience required. Please note you must be over 18 years old to enrol on a WEA course.

Silver & Copper Jewellery Making for Improvers

This course offers students the opportunity to extend their skills and be introduced to a range of more advanced techniques and processes, eg stone setting, chain making, wire forming, etching and catches, enabling more complex and/or refined pieces to be made.

Start date: Thursday 17th January 2019
End date: Thursday 28th March 2019
Time: 1pm to 3.30pm
Sessions: 10
