COVID-19 Update 20th March 2020

Message to our friends, visitors and service users

We have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation, and wanted to share the measures we have put in place to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our staff and community.

The farm and gardens are open for you to come and visit for some fresh air and a dose of nature, the outside areas at the farm are low risk in terms of sharing viruses, but please don’t come if you have symptoms such as a cough or a temperature, and please be sensible about keeping your distance.

The city farm café remains open for now, with a reduced menu because of the reduced trade we’re seeing. We are about to open a beautiful new shop, selling local goodies as well as staples with ready-meals to take away and fresh ingredients as we get the stock from our suppliers.

The nursery will be closed from Friday to all but those key workers who need child-care. Parents are being contacted directly with more information. If there are key workers who don’t usually attend here, then we will have capacity to offer short-term registrations for their children. Farm Adventurers is also closed.

Events and room hire services are postponed for now but you can still email us at with your queries as well as future plans for courses, events and parties.

This situation is devastating for us (and many small organisations like us), as the farm relies on donations from visitors and income generated through our bookable services.

We will be reviewing the situation on a daily basis and will update with any changes on our website and our social media accounts and we will do our best to continue to connect with all of our supporters through these same channels.

Finally, we understand that this is a financially difficult time for households, but small regular donations would help us to continue to stay open, pay our staff, and still be here for the community when this difficult time has passed.

Make a donation

Thank you.
