Tesco has teamed up with Groundwork on its Bags of Help initiative in hundreds of regions across England and Wales. The scheme will see three community groups and projects in each of these regions awarded grants of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p bag charge.
We are thrilled that our proposal to create an exciting interactive learning centre for children and adults to learn about animals, plants and the environment here at the City Farm has been chosen as one of the three projects in this region so we are guaranteed at least £8,000.
Voting is open in Tesco stores from 31st October to 13th November. Customers can cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop.
Please vote for the City Farm as often as you can and help us secure £10,000 or even the top prize of £12,000!
Bags of Help offers community groups and projects in each of Tesco’s 416 regions across the UK a share of revenue generated from the 5p charge levied on single-use carrier bags.
