Senior Early Years Practitioner

Role: to work with children aged 1½ to 2½ years in our day care nursery
Contract: maternity leave cover, minimum of 12 months
Hours: part-time, 22.5 hours per week, Wednesday to Friday all year round, various shift patterns ranging from 7.45am to a 6.00pm
Salary: £20,494.50 per annum pro rata (£10.51 per hour)

About the role

We have a friendly and dedicated team of childcare professionals in a unique setting on Windmill Hill City Farm. Children & Family Services is at the heart of the city farm providing opportunities for children to learn, develop, and have fun gaining a variety of life skills through a variety of play opportunities and experiences within these natural surroundings.

The successful candidate will lead and support the Pear Blossom Room providing exciting experiences and opportunities for children aged 1 ½ – 2 ½ years in our unique setting.

Qualifications / experience for this post


  • level 3 Early Years qualification in Childcare
  • minimum 1 year’s experience of leading a team
  • minimum 2 years’ (paid) experience working in Early Years
  • experience of working with the EYFS framework
  • an enjoyment of working outdoors


  • experience of working with vulnerable families
  • experience of working with Tapestry (e-learning diary)
  • food Hygiene certificate
