Background to the

The Then and Now Project

This project was funded by an Age Concern Millennium award. The application was made by Elizabeth Taylor from the Senior Citizens Group and Ron Tuvey from the memories of Bedminster group.

The original aim of the project was to produce a web site with information about the local area past and present. we hoped it would allow people to share their memories and to look at how things have changed over the years. As the project evolved the young people wanted to produce their own web pages.

The project, for a number of reasons has been less about local history than we had originally planned but it does reflect how things have changed as we enter this new Millenium. We have therefore decided to rename the website to "Then and Now."

The website has been made entirely by the young people in the Adventure Playground with technical assistance from the people listed below.

We hope you enjoy it.

It is hoped that we will have feed back forms on the web site to enable other people to share their memories with us.

The project involved members of the Windmill Hill Senior Citizens Group.
