This is a work placement for those who have experienced mental health challenges, are thinking of gardening and grounds maintenance as a career option and want to get back into a work routine.
Areas of focus will include ground maintenance, propagation tasks, grass cutting, hedge trimming, fencing and more.
We are offering three placements for 2017 as follows:

This placement is for individuals who have experienced a mental health challenge and are looking to build work experience with children. The placement is in an outdoor nursery called Farm Adventurers, a unique, all year-round opportunity for young children to experience farming and nature in the heart of the city and for parents/ carers to access courses and workshops, or to simply have some time. Farm Adventurers activities include animal care, growing vegetables, cooking, mud kitchen, nature play, pond dipping, bug hunting, music, and art.
The role will enable children aged two to five years to engage in Farm Adventurers sessions and help support the Farm Adventurers project. Main activities include working cooperatively alongside staff to deliver Farm Adventurers outdoor learning sessions, supporting the Farm Adventurers session leader to set up the session, organise breaks and pack up the session, and being a positive role model for children.

This is an 8-week work placement for those who have experienced mental health challenges and want to get back into a work routine and develop a career in an administration or customer service role.
Windmill Hill City Farm provides a great array of facilities for the local community. The visitor centre is currently open five days a week from Monday to Friday and provides all the information that visitors need to visit the site. We are looking for an individual to contribute to a number of administration tasks to help us provide our services to the public, and to work on the reception desk. This role will help the smooth running of HR, events and general farm services, and will provide visitors with a positive farm experience.
